When I was born, lies, corruption, violation of human rights, and isolation from the Western World dominated my native country, Romania. The United States government offered my family and me the chance to live here in the model of democracy for all nations on earth. We came here and we had to change our way of thinking. We changed the language, and along with it we changed the traditions. My parents sold everything they had, thinking about their children.
